Our Vision

A family living in the Father's love, being shaped by the Son, and empowered by the Holy Spirit to be a faithful presence in the world.

We believe the Bible tells one beautiful, unified story-a story of a Creator who longs to dwell with His people and renew all things through Jesus.

That story isn't simply something we believe; it's a story we're invited to inhabit.

Through Jesus, God is forming a new family from every background and generation. As we learn to live in His love, we are gradually transformed into people who reflect His character and participate in His work of bringing hope, healing and restoration to the world around us.

Everything we do flows from five shared values.

Our Values

Attentive to God's Presence

God is with us.

We want to become people who recognise His presence in everyday life, learn to listen for His voice, respond to His leading, and cultivate lives of prayer, worship and expectancy.

Beloved by the Father

Everything begins with God's love.

Our identity isn't built on success, failure or performance, but on being welcomed into God's family through Jesus. As we receive His love, we learn to extend that same love to one another.

Empowered by the Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is God's own presence with His people today.

He transforms us into the likeness of Jesus, gives gifts to build up His Church, and empowers ordinary people to participate in God's renewing work in the world.

Living as a Faithful Presence

God is already at work in every locality, workplace, school and community.

Rather than asking God to bless our plans. we want to become people who notice where He is already at work and faithfully join Him there. We seek to embody the love, peace and hope of Jesus wherever He has placed us.

Shaped by the Way of Jesus

Following Jesus is about more than believing the right things.

As we immerse ourselves in the story of Scripture and practise the way of Jesus together, the Holy Spirit forms our character so that we increasingly resemble Him in our relationships, our work and our everyday lives.

Our Story

Rhiwbina Baptist Church (RBC) was founded in 1934 into a thriving, leafy village suburb four miles north of Cardiff city centre. Initially using the school hall for prayer and worship this small group of Baptists quickly moved into a brand new church building where the remodelled RBC still stands.

From the original intent to establish a Baptist witness, to the present day church we now are, flourishing under renewal in the Holy Spirit, the heart of RBC has always been the same – to reach out to the local community and beyond with the life-changing message of hope in Jesus Christ.

You can read a full account of the church’s first 80 years in Sue Barrow’s book, “RBC at 80″ – copies available from the church office.
